The time has come for the City of Norman to withdraw from ACOG.
ACOG is the Association of Central Oklahoma Governments. It exists to feed from the federal government's feeding trough and promote the unelected dictatorship. It has no citizen oversight yet lays down policies and plans for the citizens of Norman without the citizen's approval.
According to the Transcript, Councilman Tom Kovach spearheaded the withdrawal of Norman from the Oklahoma Municipal League (OML), another super-government entity with which the city of Norman was entangled. The city of Norman saves $73,000 annually in dues that were paid to that organization, money which was then deposited with the Public Works department to support street sweeping efforts.
Street sweeping, or the lack of it, became an important issue this past summer, when the council was voting to steal people's right to use their land in order to keep them from possibly polluting local streams, rivers, and lakes in the future (they call it "sustainability"). During the deliberation about what all the evil people might hypothetically do in the future to their land, it was revealed that the current level of pollution could be greatly decreased by simply sweeping the streets on a regular basis.
Instead of spending the money on street sweeping, Rosenthal and O'Leary have conspired to use that money to promote the ACOG Agenda 2035, which seems whole-heartedly in support of the United Nations sustainability agenda, Agenda 21 (21 is for the "21st" century).
Norman paid $55,000 in membership dues to ACOG for 2011.
ACOG receives $3.5 million/year from the 9-1-1 service fee added to everyone's telephone bill. They coordinate an enhanced 911 service that allows dispatchers to geo-locate calls from cell phone users. Without it, people would have to tell dispatchers where they are, or where the problem is.
Their total revenue for FY 2011 is $8.1 million. http://www.acogok.org/About_ACOG/Funding.asp
Besides the 911 service, ACOG exists to coordinate assaults on personal property rights and individual freedom.
Don't believe me? Visit the blog of ACOG's very pious Gaia loving master at the US DOT and earth worshipping sister at the US HUD. I found them from a link at the bottom of this ACOG page.
