My Apologies

My apologies for the silliness of the pages in the "Local Silliness" section. I have entered the bizarro world of local government, municipal government. I've entered very reluctantly, and only as a matter of necessity to try and protect both my own and my neighbors' private property from confiscation by "legal" thievery.

I never dreamed I'd ever get much involved in government other than by exercising my vote. It sounds about as interesting as operating a snow cone machine. I expected it would be the same redundant thing day after glorious day. You know, protecting liberty, honoring the existing law, and maybe writing a law here or there to address the latest thing that's been invented that allows you to annoy your neighbor. I wanted to just thank the people serving in what seems like a very mundane capacity, and go about my business.

I've always suspected that there were people undermining the natural, God-given right to liberty we enjoy in this country, liberty that is supposed to be protected under the US and State Constitutions. I mean, you can hardly miss it at the national level, because the liars and thieves parade about arrogantly in every television interview they give. But you rarely see local officials on T.V. because what they do is rarely considered newsworthy.

I have to thank the Norman Transcript for bringing the topic that follows to my attention. I have links to some of their newspaper articles that concern the events and happenings that I will describe.
